How to Read Your Copy Trading Dashboard

Published September 4, 2026 · 4 min read · TAG Markets Club

Your dashboard shows everything happening in your account. Here is how to read it without panic.

Dashboard overview

At a glance:

  • Account balance: Total funds in account
  • Equity: Balance minus open losses
  • Open P&L: Profit/loss on open positions (unrealized)
  • Closed P&L: Profit/loss on closed trades (realized)
  • Free margin: Capital available for new trades

Open positions

Shows trades currently running. Each row shows:

  • Pair (e.g., EUR/USD)
  • Direction (buy or sell)
  • Entry price
  • Current price
  • Open P&L (gain or loss so far)

If all green = winning. If red = losing. Do not close trades based on short-term swings.

Trade history

Closed trades: Entry date, exit date, entry price, exit price, profit/loss per trade.

Use this to learn. Do your best trades happen at certain times? Are you better with certain pairs? History reveals patterns.

Equity curve (over time)

Graph showing account balance over weeks/months. Rising line = good. Flat or declining = time to reconsider. Use this to spot when things break down.

Frequently asked questions

What is the difference between balance and equity?

Balance = realized P&L. Equity = balance minus open losses. Equity matters more.

Should I check daily?

No. 1-2 times weekly is enough. Daily checking causes emotional trading.

When should I stop copying?

If drawdown > 10% or trader strategy breaks down. Not on a bad week.
